The Long-Term Strategy Conference

September 15–17, 2026 · Virtual

Most executives have already run the experiment. Feed your company’s situation into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask for a long-term strategy. You’ll get a confident, presentation-ready answer in seconds. Ask a second model the same question and you’ll get the same conclusions in different words: differentiate, lead with innovation, augment the workforce with AI. It reads well. It’s also generic — averaged from everything on the internet, not built from your business.

We call this trendslop. It’s the default output of asking a large language model to do strategy directly, and it’s what most companies get when they bring AI into strategic planning without changing anything else first.

This conference starts from a different premise: the problem isn’t the AI, and it isn’t your prompting. It’s that most strategy processes were never mapped clearly enough for AI to be pointed at the right sub-task. Fix that, and AI becomes genuinely useful. Skip it, and AI just produces faster, more confident trendslop.

What’s different about this conference

We’re not running a lineup of talks and panels. The format is closer to an interactive exhibition than a webinar series — you move through the three days sampling tools, frameworks, and exercises rather than sitting through back-to-back presentations.

Three things anchor the content:

  • The EndPoint Method — a six-stage strategic planning framework (Snapshot, Target Year, Scenarios, Commitment, Backcast, Execution) developed and refined over two decades of client engagements. Each stage carries a different kind of thinking and a different vulnerability to AI-generated trendslop.
  • AI personas — instead of asking a general-purpose model “what should our strategy be,” you’ll work with narrower, purpose-built personas, each scoped to one sub-task in the planning process: option generation, stress-testing, historical pattern-matching, and others. You’ll get access to example personas and the prompt logic behind them, so you can adapt them to your own organization.
  • StratNav, a process-driven strategy platform, will be represented at the conference with a session translating its task structure into the persona approach above.

Who this is for

If you’re a board member, executive, or consultant heading into a strategy retreat and wondering whether to bring AI into the room — or already using it quietly and unsure whether to trust what it gives you — this is built for you.

Speakers

We’re filtering deliberately for people who have applied AI-driven process changes with real clients, not just written about the idea. That combination is harder to find than you’d expect.

Passes

A free Visitor Pass gets you access to drop into sessions across the three days. A Full Ticket gives you the complete experience, including hands-on persona exercises.
